Starting on Saturday 4 October, join in the celebrations and help us raise the standard of animal welfare around the world. World Animal Week is a global event, so join other animal lovers from the farthest flung corners of the earth in making a noise!

Do you want to help animals during World Animal Week? There’s no limit to what we can achieve together and the best thing is It’s A Piece Of Cake!
Hold an It’s A Piece Of Cake! event at your workplace, vet surgery, pub or any where else which is convenient.
All you need to do is bake up some delicious cakes, ask your guests to bring some too, put the kettle on and make the world a better place for animals! We can support you in organising your event with advice and materials such as posters and stickers.
E-mail us at fundraising@wspa.org.uk and register your event now to be in with a chance to win either £400 off the cost of taking part in an exciting WSPA overseas challenge event or, if adventuring abroad isn't for you, a case of wine!
Helping cats and dogs in need
Let’s shout about the positive results we’ve achieved to date and reach out to the wider community to remind them that animals do matter. This World Animal Week we are shining the spotlight on our work with cats and dogs.
In Costa Rica it costs just £25 an hour to run a companion animal project. During one hour our local member society can:
- Vaccinate up to 100 dogs and cats against rabies
- Neuter 15 dogs or cats
- Spay 10 dogs or cats, preventing the birth of on average 100 puppies or kittens that year
- Educate up to 100 people who walk past specially painted murals that caring for and sterilising animals in their community is important.

How many hours of the Costa Rica project could your It’s a Piece of Cake event help us fund?
More and more people and organisations are taking part in the WAW celebrations every year; help us make 2008 the best year yet! Please spread the word, the more people who know, the more we can do for animals.
WSPA is working with hundreds of member societies all over the world delivering life saving work for cats and dogs. We reach some of the poorest communities and help them provide veterinary care for their animals. Without it these animals would face painful futures and in many cases painful deaths. Without you we can’t do it.
Schools:
Kids, you can help animals too. There are lots of ways you can make a noise for World Animal Week and have fun doing it. Get your friends involved. Your family, your class, your whole school!
